Frequently asked questions

When should I choose dedicated over a VPS?
Three reasons typically drive the decision: regulatory or compliance requirements that disallow shared hardware (banking, healthcare, certain government contracts); workloads that need predictable performance for a database, ML inference or large-file processing; or simply outgrowing the largest VPS option. If none of those apply, a VPS is usually a better fit.
Is the hardware physically located in Malaysia?
Yes. All Fibernatic dedicated servers sit in Tier-III data centres in Malaysia, with redundant power, cooling and multi-homed network connectivity. Local hosting means sub-10ms latency to most Malaysian end-users.
Can I customise the hardware specs?
Absolutely. The three plans on this page are common-case bundles, but we build to spec — additional NVMe drives, more RAM, different CPU families (Intel Xeon or AMD EPYC), GPU additions, multiple uplinks. Tell us what you need and we'll quote it within 48 hours.
What's the provisioning time?
Under 4 hours for the standard Premier, Enterprise and Corporate plans (we hold stock in the data centre). Fully custom builds take 5-10 business days depending on the parts.
Do I get IPMI / out-of-band access?
Yes. Every dedicated server ships with KVM-over-IP (IPMI) so you can reboot, reinstall the OS or access the console even when the OS is down. Out-of-band access is over a separate management network on a non-routable IP.
What if a hardware component fails?
We replace it under your existing plan — no charge. Most replacements (drives, RAM, PSUs) are done in under 2 hours by on-site engineers without rebooting your workloads (drives are in hardware RAID). For catastrophic failures, we'll restore your latest snapshot onto a fresh chassis.
